Objective

Our objective is to enable multidisciplinary design engineers to track and coordinate their design decisions with each other, even when not co-located or working with the same software.

Integrating heterogeneous software is not enough. Not only are such integrations typically ad hoc and difficult to maintain, but they do not solve the problem of who should be notified under what cicurmstances. In the ABCD approach, this is done by agents that understand the engineering design process and can coordinate it.
