Practical Web Services Need Semantics

Semantics is a Software Engineering Technology^*

Without it, web services are no better than RPCs.
That's why Google went to Ajax.

Semantics are not categories.

This is why UDDI failed.

I can call anything a Travel service.

Categories don't say what a service actually does.

Or under what conditions.

Maybe tags will work. But maybe not.
