Diffusing Computation / Agents

Diffusing computations can have complex protocols based on peer-to-peer communications Can prove nice properties, like termination.

These are not agents - there are no surprise messages.

Surprise messages make it difficult to prove nice properties.

But surprise is makes us think something, or someone, is intelligent.

Surprise characterizes one kind of question that makes us think a student is smart. And a print server is not.
