The choice of support material is limited by the properties of the embedded components. For example, components that are heat sensitive, or sensitive to moisture or water require the appropriate material. Another limiting factor is the removal of the support material. For example, the tubing in this pneumatic system limits the support material to something that can must flow readily when removed.
Once the part is finished, some post-processing is required which includes the removal of support material.
