Facilities of Thermosciences Division

The faculty, students and laboratories of the Heat Transfer and Turbulence Mechanics group are housed in Building 500, adjacent to White Plaza. This building is known as the Terman Engineering Laboratory, not be confused with the Terman Engineering Center (the main engineering building). Faculty and research staff of the HTGL are housed in Building 520 (the Havas Building), and the HTGL research laboratories are in Building 570 on Panama Street, just West of the Old Union. The Center for Turbulence Research is located in a small building adjacent to Building 500.

Student Offices

Offices are provided for all post-master research students in near proximity to their faculty supervisors. Offices for some first-year graduate students are available, on a priority basis, in Buildings 500 and 520. Contact the Thermosciences Division Office (building 520) for additional information.

Shop

The TSD shop in Building 500 provides support for academic and research activities in the Division, but it is not for student use, nor does the shop lend tools.

Courtyard

The courtyard area may not be used for parking by anyone during weekdays. On weekends you can usually park there without getting ticketed, but working on your car is verboten.
