Yahoo and Google are betting on community generated semantics to be able to answer the query:
"What is the oldest western university not founded by monks?"

Extract sementics from search signals (keywords, actions)

Organize tags from Flickr and Semantic Wikipedia, as well as social networks such as Spock, and Facebook

Social networks are likely to implement Semantic Email Addressing and maybe a smarter DOPPLR.

Domain-specific ontologies will be developed for narrow vertical markets

Integrating vertical domains likely will be done via known data integration techniques.
