There is almost no motorcycle content to this report because, when I added the Ireland side trip to the Travel Plan, there was no more time to get the bike, and it was much easier just to travel by train. And, as it turned out, Emily needed to use my bike, so it all worked out. So, the only motorcycle content is when I caught up with Emily and Hans in Berlin and was able to at least sit on my European R80ST this year.

The short version now: I went to Berlin and had a great time with Birgit and Afsaneh from 20 Sep (Saturday) to 24 Sep (Weds). On Weds, I caught up with Emily and Hans and we had someone take a picture of us with Rik's and my STs. And I bought valve covers for my ST at less than half price.

Then I went to Weimar for two nights. One 25 Sep (Thurs), I gave my talk at the conference and visited there until 3pm, and then walked around the Altstadt of Erfuhrt until exhausted. The next day, 26 Sep (Fri), I visited the concentration camp at Buchenwald and then took the train to Darmstadt to visit the Verst family, as it turned out, for two nights. I have lots of handwitten notes and more pictures with better resolution than available on this web site, if anyone is remotely interested.
