Changing the state of the world is a little different

Good to represent this differently.

Preconditions are the conditions that must be met before the service can be consumed.

Must have a valid drivers license.

Must have a major credit card.

Must have a reservation.

Must be at the right office at the right time.

Effects

Yes, these are also a kind of input/output, but distinguishing them facilitates composition. More on this in future lectures.
