Intelligent Software Agents
This was a big technology in the 90's.
Distributed software components loosely working together, self-organizing
Used an
Agent Communications Language (ACL)
as an "Outer Language": e.g., KQML or FIPA.
Distinguished "Sorry" from "Error".
Used a domain-specific "Inner Language" such as in
ProcessLink
Self-organizing
replaced by choreography of semantic web services, as predicted and urged in a talk in Manchester, UK in 2000.
If we could define Intelligent Software Agents, it might be instructive.
