Indexing and Model Acquisition in DEDAL
We envision the indexing and model acquisition to be tightly coupled
and go hand in hand. The designer could start by building the model
and then index the concepts in the model or begin by indexing a
document and build a model incrementally as the indexing
progresses.
In order to facilitate the task of indexing, the designer would just
highlight the relevant media in either:
- document system
- audiotool
- videotool
.
The act of highlighting would automatically generate the proper
record/segment numbers etc, and open a form for the designer to
specify the topic and level of detail
attributes of the language used for indexing.
The designer at the same time would be able to create a graphical
representation of the indexed concept and link it into the domain
model.
