Heuristic "Is A"
DEDAL uses a set of heuristics that reason from the
device model to guess at where the answers may be documented if
the retrieval fails. The heuristics are applied automatically in case
there is no exact index match to a query or if more answers are desired for a
particular query.
"Is A" heuristic:
- If question is about topic function
and query is about object O
and if O is a type of object P
then find a document relating to
the description of
P in medium text.
In this particular case:
- The query is about function of Control Subsystem
and Temperature Control Mechanism is a type of
Control Subystem
therefore find a document relating to
the description of Temperature Control Mechanism in medium
text.
