DesignSpace: AN EXHIBIT OF DEVELOPING TECHNOLOGIES FOR DESIGN William L. Chapin James F. Kramer Larry Leifer, PhD. Center for Design Research Stanford University Stanford, CA 94305-2232 ABSTRACT DesignSpace, a design media interpretation for a future generation, facilitates collaborative design between remote stations through a shared virtual environment medium. At each station designers work in a physical design studio, but may access their design through a large virtual window into the shared virtual space. The system empowers participants to communicate dexterously, aurally, and visually with one another and the design. In Visual Proceedings of the ACM's SIGGRAPH 1993 Conference
