Linear Guides
- LM76 Ceramic Bearings
The LM76 Ceramic Coated Bearing was the final choice for our linear
bearing needs. It not only met all our requirements, but it also had a
very low coefficient of friction. In addition, the toughness of the
bearing maintains the tight tolerences we need throughout the life of the
bearing.
- Igus
The Igus NK01-80 Linear Guide System was our initial choice. It met our
requirements for speed, acceleration, and load capacity. It was also a
simple system, preassembled for the most part, and supported along its
entire length. This eliminated many of the tolerence issues we needed to
address. We did end up using this system for our prototype, but our final
setup uses the higher quality ceramic bearings.
