Electronic Masks Produced by Dymax Corp.

General Descriptions:

Dymax masks are fast curing, solvent-free resins designed for either manual or fully automated masking of printed circuit boards (PCBs) prior to soldering or conformal coating operations. These 100% solids, low odor urethane acrylate resins require no special venting and withstand wave solder temperatures. The cured materials leave no silicone, ionic contamination or corrosive residues. Dymax masks cure in seconds "on demand" when exposed to "worker friendly", longwave (365 nanometer) UV light, and require neither drying time nor heat curing. PCBs are immediately ready for coating or soldering without the need for racking or waiting. Major features are listed below:

Application:
Dymax masking adhesives can be used to protect a multitude of PCB substrates including FR-4, ceramic, gold fingers and the many materials used in the manufacture of electronic components. The products are available in 30 mL syringes, 300 mL cartridges and 1 liter containers for easy automated dispensing from standard pressure-fed dispensing equipment.

Curing:

Dymax photocurable technology offers improved process design opportunities for electronic applications. Lower costs and increased productivity are just some of the benefits available with Dymax 900 Series electronic grade adhesives, sealants, coatings, masks and curing equipment. Dymax understands that the masks must be matched with the curing equipment configuration to meet the requirements of your manufacturing process and final assembled product.

Cure time and depth of cure are dependent on intensity and wavelength of the UV light source used. Suggested UV curing equipment is shown below.
