A-Pillar
Roof support between windshield and side window of an automobile

Backlash
Amount by which the width of a tooth space exceed the thickness of the engaging tooth.

Backdrive (Reversability)
Driving a mechanical system in reverse

Bevel Gear
Gear used to connect intersecting shares in any given speed ratio.

Closed Loop Feedback
System in which input is controlled via measured output

Dove Lens
Optical lens which rotate image at twice the rotation of lens itself.

EMF
Electro-magnetic field

FLIR
Forward Looking InfraRed used by the U.S. Military

Frustum
The part of a solid cone or pyramid next to the base that is formed by cutting off the top by a plane parallel to the base

Gimbal
Device that permits a body to incline freely in any direction or suspends it so that it will remain level when its support is tipped

Lightbar
Bar or fixture on which emergency lights are mounted

Linkage System
Mechanism to transmit and/or transform torque from one body to anouther
