Trip to Amsterdam, Arnhem, Darmstadt, Ulm, Innsbruck, Cortina, Munich, Funchal, Berchtesgaden, Passau, Prague, Dresden, Berlin - June 2007

Mostly a motorcycle trip. A small subset of pictures is linked. Some entire place pictures have been eliminated.

• 30-31 May 07: Amsterdam for IEEE Internet Computing editorial board meeting.
• 1-3 June 07: Visit to Klaartje and Rik's secret lair in Arnehm. We prepped the R80ST, rode to the Polo store in Germany to buy a Schuberth J1 helmet, and out to a farm to get fresh milk. We had dinner at a local restaurant which is across the street from one of Klaartje's murals and a release spot for wild Bookcrossing books.
• 3-4 June 07: Visit with Family Verst.
• 4-5 June 07: Visit to SAP in Waldorf. Discover that reserve gas is good for only 15Km.
  Ride further to Ulm where I spent the night and walked around the old Fischer part of town in the morning.
Then I rode from Ulm to Innsbruck over the Fernpass. Held SWS Challenge Workshop.
• 7 June 07: Short ride to the Subiatal valley and hike near Innsbruck.
• 8 June 07: Rainy ride over the Timmelsjoch with Tiziana.
• 9-10 June 07: Ride to Cortina, then Munich.
• 11-16 June 07: Conference in Funchal, Madeira, Portugal.
• 17-20 June 07: Watzmann Überschreitung - last bonus pdf not in left-hand thumbnails. This 3-day crossing of the Watzmann exhausted us in a way that our 6-day Tour of 2004 did not.
  Back to München on 21 June.
• 22 June: After stopping by the BMW shop in München, I rode to Passau and found the perfect hotel.
• 23-24 June: Rode from Passau to Prague and then the next day to Dresden.
• 24-25 June: Toured Dresden and then rode to Berlin.
• 25-30 June: In Berlin, I visited friends, gave a talk at the HPI in Potsdam, and then rode back to Arnehm. Using Klaartje and Rik's secret industrial base, we toured Arnehm. We rode back to the Polo shop where I had bought my Schuberth J1 helmet and the clerk fixed the broken visor at no cost. Polo has my business from now on.

  We stopped to go up to the steeple of the big church on our way to the train station, where Klaartje displayed a magazine article describing her African ride. Then on to Brussels where I had a great dinner in a fabulous restaurant and saw the Nato headquarters on the way to the airport.
